(Land of Dreams) is my bachelor’s final project from Shenkar – Engineering. Design. Art. It is a large-scale linocut carving (140×180 cm) that visualizes a collection of bad dreams I gathered anonymously from different people, translating their intimate fears into a single, dense dreamscape.
The work was created using a traditional linocut printmaking technique.
First, I sketched the composition in pencil directly onto a large linoleum sheet. Then I carved out the areas that I wanted to remain white in the final print, cutting away the surface to create a relief. After the carving was complete, I rolled print paint over the remaining raised areas and printed the image using a press, transferring the carved “dream landscape” from the linoleum onto paper.
